Miss Philippines Tracy Maureen Perez is pleased to announce the support of the Miss World Organization for her Beauty With A Purpose (BWAP) project. “We made it to the top 5 of the BWAP final round. Miss World Organization will also be coming to the Philippines to fund my project, ”Perez said in her Facebook post.
Perez made it into the Top 5 of “Beauty With A Purpose” of Miss World 2021 for her advocacy focusing on the solo parents’ community which she said has received less attention. Since she was also raised by a single mom, she began paying attention to the solo mothers’ welfare. As a start, she reached to the Solo mothers of the Municipality of Cordova where she is among those who initiated the ICT training. She partnered with BPO president Mike Cubos, who owns the call center where the solo mothers had the free call center training, and with Councilor Cesar Munez.
“Mommy Chona, this is for you and to all solo parents out there,” Perez said. This is considered the highest award a candidate can get. The Miss World Organization also pays great attention to the humanitarian projects of the candidates. Each candidate has to set up a ‘Beauty With A Purpose’ project with a national organization in their respective country. The rest of the top 5 were the USA, South Africa, Kenya, and England. The 70th Miss World 2021 Coronation night will be on December 16, 2021 in Puerto Rico.
